I am learning a new form of writing: quiltmaking instructions. This is a first ROUGH draft of the pattern I am designing, which is named “Celtic Nights.” I am puzzling over the best way to illustrate these directions, or whether to illustrate them at all. Artwork is not in my bag of tricks!

I think lots of people rely on the visuals, for instructions to really make sense. Can you take photos of the different steps? Think of the quilt instructions you like best and try to employ the same strategies!
Excellent ideas! I am reading a lot of instructions these days, to see what works. Visual aids are very important to me!
