How patient is our God! He not only died for us, He gave His own dear Son to suffer and die in our places. We know this about Him. And yet, we will still manage to doubt His providence in our day-to-day lives. Some are ill; some hurt; some have lost their jobs or homes or marriages; some are worrying about inconsequential things. In all cases, in spite of our doubt, He continues to send us what we need. Not necessarily what we want or hope for or even what we pray for, even if that seems good — like healing. No, He sends us what we need in order to “be conformed into the image of His Son.” It’s a high calling; a lofty goal. One we could never reach apart from Him, and one He patiently guides us toward, day after doubtful day.
