As I was trimming jump threads on this embroidered piece for a Texas-themed quilt (with my little-old-lady glasses on), I was thinking of the rich heritage in our unique state. There is no other place quite like Texas. It is for all the world a symbol of all that is big and bold, courageous, individualistic, family-oriented, and fun. What better way to preserve and convey that heritage than through a quilt that centers around a poem about bluebonnets and the Cotton-eyed Joe?
